Every once in a while you experience a
day that defies logic. When you have an inkling that something different is about
to happen. When you keep cranking out rep after rep, set after set with no
signs of fatigue or exhaustion. When you loose track of your
surroundings and retreat into yourself. When people look at you bewildered, be
it the back to back sprints on the treadmill or the 150 kg deadlifts. When you
walk around shaking your head to the music inside that only you hear. When a
random person you have never spoken to comes out of nowhere to spot you. He sees
your hand quiver at that 10th rep of the 30kg dumbbell and feels the need to
help you complete it. When you finish the day's workout and just start the one
for the next day. When you finish that one and you still keep going. When people
start looking at you and smiling. They see you are in that zone. When they make way if you are walking towards the weight rack. When you acknowledge
them in return. When you suddenly realise that it has been two and a half hours and you
could still keep going for another two. When you leave the gym with more energy
than you walked in with.
Every once in a while there comes a day
when, as you leave the weight room the instructor calls out to you and says,
"Superman! You sure you're finally done for the day? "
